Great news! I'm writing
to let you know that PurpleCloud has
been acquired by Krystal
Hosting and that your hosting will
be migrated to their platform over the
coming weeks. You don't need to
do anything - Krystal will
ensure all your website data and email
is transferred safely.
As a PurpleCloud customer, you may have
noticed that service levels have dropped
over the last couple of years. This has
been largely as a result of our small
size and insufficient funds to invest in
infrastructure or support staff.
Thus, earlier this year we sought a new
home for our clients, and after
discussions with several hosting
companies, decided that Krystal
represented the best fit. Krystal have
an excellent reputation and state of the
art hosting facilities. Krystal are
passionate about what they do and we are
very glad we have found such a good home
for our clients.
About Krystal
Krystal have been offering shared
hosting and dedicated servers for over 9
years. They offer non-outsourced
UK-based telephone support, are a 100%
privately owned UK business (Company No.
7571790) and offer a 99.9% uptime
Service Level Agreement. They are
members of the following organisations:
Krystal operate a state of the art
hosting facility inside an ex-MOD bunker
outside London where they utilise the
latest premium Dell Blade servers and
run a 10Gbps optical network with 2Gbps
of redundant internet connectivity. They
are a full members of RIPE, making them
an independent ISP with their own IP
address space.
What To Expect
No action is necessary on your part.
Krystal will migrate all domains and
hosting plans to their infrastructure
over the coming weeks. We will be
working hard with Krystal to make the
migration as seamless as possible. Users
should expect a short amount of downtime
during a scheduled maintenance window
followed by an increase in performance
as your site is served from your new
Krystal server.

Key differences
Krystal run cPanel, the worlds most
popular control panel, instead of Plesk.
Once migrated you will be able to access
your cPanel at <YOURDOMAIN>/cpanel
cPanel provides everything Plesk offers,
although it has a slightly different
look. Krystal have over 100 video
tutorials that will help bring you up to
speed at their dedicated support website

The only other major change is that from
now on you will simply use your domain
name for service like FTP, mail and
Webmail. For example, your ftp hostname
after the migration will be
ftp.<YOURDOMAIN>

Plans and Pricing
Krystal offer similar plans to
PurpleCloud, although they differ
slightly in terms of resources and
pricing. Subscriptions will be migrated
to an equivalent plan and renewal dates
honoured. Krystal offer a number of
premium features included in the price,
including the "StriKe" mail filtering
cluster, "ArK" automatic backups,
Fantastico script library, website
builder and more.

Client Area
Krystal have already migrated your

and you should receive an email shortly
after this one with your new login
details. The client area is where
you can settle invoices and manage
your hosting plan subscriptions and
domain names.
